Getting started
Who is 11Prep Detectives for?
Children aged about 8 to 10 (Years 4 to 6) in the UK who are preparing for the 11+, and the parents who want to see how it is going.
How do I get access?
Access is by invite for now. Request an invite on the Join page and we will send it when a place is ready.
Does it cost anything?
It is free to start for invited UK families. No prices have been set yet.
What devices does it work on?
It runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install.
How many children can use one account?
A parent account can have up to six child profiles, using only a first name or nickname.
The 11+
Does it cover my child’s school test?
It is built around the skills that 11+ tests ask for in maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Most tests do not publish a full topic list, so we cannot promise a match for any one test. The School planner shows what each school’s test is known to use and builds a study plan from it.
Do you guarantee a pass?
No. Nobody can. We show a readiness range with an estimate to the test date, never a promise, and we never predict that a child will pass.
When is the test, and how do I register?
It depends on where you live, and dates change every year. Check the official page for your area. The School planner links to each school’s details.
What is the Cadet Entrance Exam?
Four short papers (maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning) with no marks shown and no pass or fail. They set up a personal plan and a baseline for the parent report. A Progress Check later shows growth.
Safety and privacy
What do you collect about my child?
A first name or nickname, practice results, and per-answer details such as how long an answer took and whether a hint was used. There are no surnames, dates of birth, photos, locations or free text from children.
Are there adverts or trackers?
No. There is no advertising and no analytics or third-party tracking.
Does it use AI?
No. Hints, plans and reports come from fixed rules, not from an AI model.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time, and accounts that are unused for 12 months are deleted automatically, with a warning first.
For parents
What will I see as a parent?
A dashboard with readiness as a range, a skill map, why marks are lost, speed against accuracy, fading skills, goals, a weekly summary and a printable report. You can take a copy of your child’s answers as a spreadsheet at any time.
Can I choose what my child practises?
Yes. Practice is built from the topics your child has already studied, so it only ever covers what they have met. From the skill map, Chapters or Weak spots you can set a practice of 10 or 20 questions on a skill, with a note, and it appears in their Practice list. You then see it marked done, with the score.
Will my child be compared with other children?
Your child is compared with the expected standard. Anonymous group figures appear only when at least 20 similar children have enough practice, are rounded, can be switched off, and are never a ranking. Brothers and sisters are shown side by side, never ranked.
Can a tutor see the report?
Yes. You can share a read-only link that works for 30 days.
How do I report a wrong question?
Use the Report a problem box in the parent area. Every question is independently checked before it goes in, but if one slips through we want to know.
